I was walking with Kim, Nik, and Brad through Golden Gate Park to get to the California Academy of Sciences and we saw a Great Blue Heron just chilling. Kim got a little too close but I managed to get a pretty clear shot of the bird in flight.

My birthday came early...
I was really upset when I saw some funky pixels in the pics taken by my old trusty Digital Rebel, definitely sensor-related. Brad sensed my pain and replaced the Rebel with a new Canon 50D, and he didn't even make me wait until my real birthday next week. I love the new camera, it's ridiculously fast, the LCD display is about twice as big as the one on the old camera body, and I can take better pics in low light thanks to the higher ISO. Fun!
